Everything on this page is read off the folder when it is built; nothing is typed in by hand, and the suite fails when the page and the files disagree. Downloads are the files the site actually serves.

01 · The mark

One sun, one face.

A red disc with a heart for an eye. It paints with the colour of whatever it sits in, so one file is every colourway, and its face is a mask, so it sits correctly on pink, on white and over a photograph.

Drawn in landing/img/mark.svg · rules in love-sunday.css §7

  • On paper
  • On the mat
  • On blush
  • On a red fill
  • Over a photograph

Colour rules

  • On paper, mat or blush the mark is --red. Always the true red — the mark is never set in --red-ink, that token is for words.
  • On a red fill (.s-red, .btn-sun) the mark is --mat.
  • Over a photograph the mark is --mat, or --red on a mat-coloured disc.

Size rules

  • Never below 20px, except as a text bullet (1em of body copy ≥ 17px).
  • .mark--nav 32px · .mark--bullet 1em · .mark--sun and .mark--anchor are the two big suns, sized to the viewport and capped.

Sizes the stylesheet sets: .mark--nav 2rem; .mark--bullet 1em; .mark--sun clamp(6rem, 28vw, 13.5rem) (96 → 216px: the hero); .mark--anchor clamp(7.5rem, 38vw, 17rem) (120 → 272px: the contact section); .mark--stop 1.5rem (the full stop at the end of the page).

Motion

The sun rises on arrival and winks once on hover in the nav. Everything else on a page is light moving or a print settling, driven by the reader's scroll and never by a clock: 160ms fast, 320ms standard, 900ms slow, easing cubic-bezier(0.2, 0.7, 0.2, 1) out and cubic-bezier(0.6, 0, 0.2, 1) through, a rise of 18px. 23 named keyframes in all, and under reduced motion every one of them is simply finished.

02 · The wordmark

love, then sunday.

The name as artwork: love in a high-contrast italic serif for the feeling, sunday in a bold geometric sans for the weight, with MARKETING AGENCY, ESTD 2012 and the smiley beneath. It is supplied as pictures and is never reset in live type.

Read this before using a lockup. These four files are the only wordmark artwork that exists, and they wear the studio's previous palette: cream #EEEDE9 on ink #1B1B1B, and the wordmark red #FE1817 over the photograph. The site's palette (below) is pink ground, plum ink and #FE1717. They sit together because they share the red and the sun; a wordmark drawn in the site's palette is the first item under what we still need.

The archive also holds the same four artworks as eight files in _brand/lovesunday_branding/ (re-encodes of each other, kept verbatim because the archive is a primary source). Use the four above.

03 · Colour

Pink ground, red sun, plum ink.

Two colours are fixed by the identity. Everything else is derived from them, and every pair that carries words was measured against the surface it truly sits on. The numbers here are recomputed from the hexes at build time and checked against what the stylesheet states.

Declared and measured in love-sunday.css §2 · lifted verbatim into _ops/client.css for every operator room and client page

Fixed by the identity

  • --red#FE1717

the mark, the accent, the call to action. Display type only.

  • --paper#FEDEED

the ground. Pale pink; the brand colour verbatim at first light.

Type

  • --ink#3B1C24

body copy. Warm plum-brown, red-leaning so it belongs to the pink.

  • --ink-soft#7D4B53

captions, meta, secondary copy. Still AA on every surface.

  • --red-ink#BD1212

red that carries words: links, labels, small CTAs, outlined buttons.

Surfaces

  • --mat#FFFDFB

warm white: the mat of a framed print, cards, the browser frame.

  • --blush#FBCFE1

a deeper pink: chips, insets, the empty-frame ground, hover fills.

  • --sky#FFF1F6

the top of the sky; a lift behind the hero. Not a text surface.

  • --glow#FFD9C2

the sun's halo and warm highlights. Not a text surface.

Lines and shade

  • --line#EFC6D3

hairlines on paper; overridden by color-mix() below where supported

  • --line-strong#E1A9BC
  • --shadow-inkrgb(74 30 40 / 0.20)

the colour of shade; warms through the day

Red is a mark, never a sentence.

Bright --red measures 3.16:1 on the pink ground, which passes only the large-text rule: 24px and up, or 18.66px bold. So it carries the mark, the accent and the call to action, and nothing anyone has to read in a paragraph. --red-ink is the same hue darkened until it clears AA on every surface of the day, and it is the red that carries words: links, labels, small buttons.

Two tokens, on purpose, so that someone reaching for “the red” cannot lose the distinction.

The day

The page is lit by one value, --sun: first light at the top, golden hour at the end. The paper warms in hue, never in value, so the type pairs above hold at every stop and the site never goes dark. Reduced motion rests at mid-morning.

04 · Type

Glad, then serious.

Fraunces to feel it, Figtree to say it, DM Mono to note it. The brand is a red smiley and the studio is serious, and both have to be true in the type.

09 · Still needed

Not yet in the kit.

The gaps, with what each needs and who can close it. 8 to make, 4 partly there, 2 waiting on a person's hand.

Statuses computed where a file can prove them; the rest is judgement, and says so

  1. Needed

The wordmark as vector, in the site's palette

Only 4 PNG lockups exist, and no SVG. Anything printed large, cut in vinyl or set on a pink ground needs the name drawn as paths in #FE1717 and plum. A designer redraws from the artwork above; nobody resets it in live type.

  2. Waiting on a person

The phone icon and app manifest in the site's palette

They read tokens.css, which still declares ink #1B1B1B against the site's #3B1C24. A person applies the pending note in _ops/pending-skills/landing-palette-in-tokens.md and updates BRAND.md's ratio table in the same commit, or the gate fails, correctly.

  3. Partial

A default share image for the site

The homepage shares a 640×640 photograph and the team page a 448×560 portrait. This page ships a 1200×630 card of the sun and the name (above, under the mark); the site could adopt it, or a photograph cropped to that shape.

  4. Partial

    Full-resolution photography masters

The kit serves web exports, longest edge 1280px. The originals are Hope's. A shared folder of masters, named as the site names them, lets anyone make print or a large crop without asking.

  5. Partial

    Team portraits

1 portrait on the site, the founder's. As the team grows, one each on the pink wall, shot the same way.

  6. Needed

A one-colour rule for the mark

The stylesheet's rules cover red, mat and photographs. Print in one ink, engraving and embroidery need a stated answer for an ink-only sun, and it should be a decision, not a guess made at the printer.

  7. Needed

    A clear-space rule

Nothing yet says how much room the sun and the lockups need around them. A proposal: the width of one eye for the mark, the height of the smiley for the lockups. Hope decides.

  8. Partial

Social templates in the site's palette

Five artwork templates exist (carousel, story, post, quote card, one-pager) and render in the previous cream, ink and Noto Serif Display. Which house style they should wear is an open question recorded in BRAND.md, and it is a person's to answer.

  9. Needed

    A motion sting

Three to five seconds of the sun rising and winking, exported vertical and square, to open and close reels. The wink already exists in the stylesheet; it has never been rendered to film.

  10. Needed

    An email signature

Name, role, Love Sunday · Whitefish, Montana, hello@ and the Instagram handle, in the site's ink with a small red sun. Plain HTML, and a text-only version for phones.

  11. Needed

    Stationery and decks

A letterhead, a proposal cover and a presentation template. The pitches and monthly reports in the app already carry the masthead; the same shapes on paper and slides.

  12. Needed

    A watermark and credit stamp

A mat-coloured sun with the handle, for photographs that leave our hands without a caption.

  13. Waiting on a person

Self-hosted fonts on the public site

The three faces are self-hosted at /_brand/fonts/web/ and every client page uses them. The homepage and team page still call Google Fonts, which shows Google the address of everyone who visits. Dropping the two links is a small change in landing/ and needs no protected file.

  14. Needed

A voice guide beyond the lines above

What we say about clients, how we write a caption, which words we never use. The captions skill knows some of this; a page here should say all of it.

Use it
with love.
